It is a mixture of propane, normal butane, isobutane, propylene, ethane, ethylene and other hydrocarbons. It is obtained as a product of oil refining, as well as in the production of oil or natural gas in the form of a separate liquid fraction. The main components of liquefied gases as a modern fuel for engines are propane C3H8, butane C4H10 and their mixtures. Since each of the components has a specific boiling point, the vapor pressure of the liquefied gas mixture depends on both the temperature and the component composition. The pressure of the mixture of gases can be determined by the value of the components (partial) pressure of hydrocarbon gases that make up the mixture, in proportion to the concentrations.
Propane and butane have at atmospheric pressure, respectively, boiling point -42,1 °C and -0,5 °C and critical temperatures +96,8 °C and +126 °C, this allows them to be stored in a liquefied state in the operating temperature range from -40 to +45 °C at a relatively low pressure (up to 1,6 MPa). Since the critical temperatures of propane (+97 °C) and butane (+126 0C) are higher than normal ambient temperatures, both hydrocarbons at low pressure (without cooling) can be converted to a liquefied state. For example, propane at a temperature of +20 °C is liquefied at a pressure of 0.716 MPa, and butane at 0.103 MPa.

LPG used:
Automotive fuel. LPG successfully competes with traditional fuels – gasoline, diesel fuel. Motorists noted a number of advantages of using LPG as a gas motor fuel. This is an increase in engine life by an average of 10 – 15 %, a reduction in engine oil consumption by about 10 %, the absence of detonations in different engine modes. LPG is referred to the most environmentally friendly types of fuel. In compliance with all safety standards of storage, transportation, unloading, operation – this is the best type of fuel. The co content of exhaust emissions is only 10% higher than that of natural gas, the cleanest fuel. Toxic substances such as benzopyrene, vanadium pentoxide, ash dust, sulfur dioxide and soot are completely absent from emissions, and the amount of hydrogen sulfide is negligible.
Industrial raw materials. LPG is used as a fuel and raw material base in industrial enterprises. Especially widely used mixture of liquefied gases in the construction industry. As a rule, it is used for gas welding works, as well as for metal processing. It is used as a source of heat for various equipment in various industries, in the chemical industry, metalworking, glass production, in the manufacture of tires, in the cosmetic industry isobutane is used in the production of sprays, car chemicals. Isobutane is also used in the production of foam insulation materials. LPG is refilled by loaders – it gives enough energy to lift weights, but the air in closed rooms, where warehouses are usually located, remains clean – because there is no smell, no smoke, no soot from liquefied gas.
